There are many endorsements that can be added to a homeowner’s policy. One being Backup of Water / Sewer – Sump Pump Overflow. This coverage is not automatically included under a standard homeowner policy, but can be added back in with this endorsement. The limits usually go in $5,000 increments with some companies offering as much as $50,000 or more.
This coverage can be critical for homes with a basement, whether finished or not. However, a home without a basement can also have a potential back up of water or sewer.
