The AARP Smart Driver Course will be offered in 2025 in Henderson, KY.
The class will be held at the following times:
Thursday, April 25, 2025. This class will be held at the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Service, 3099 Zion Rd, Henderson, KY.
Friday, September 12, 2025. This class will be held at the Henderson County Cooperative Extension Service, 3099 Zion Rd, Henderson, KY.
The class will start promptly at 9 AM and end at 1:30 PM. It lasts four and a half hours, with multiple breaks and a box lunch provided. Please arrive early for class registration (doors open at 8:30 AM).
The Instructor will be Nibby Priest, an AARP-certified Driver Safety Instructor.
Participants will learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate a vehicle more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. You’ll learn adjustments to accommodate frequent age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. Pre-registration is required.
Kentucky auto insurance companies must offer a discount to those drivers 55 and above who complete this course. The discount is applied for five years. The class costs will be a charge of $25 for non-AARP members and $20 for AARP members. The class is free if you have an AARP UHC Medicare Supplement insurance policy.
To receive a certificate of completion, you must attend all four class hours. Payment (checks preferred payable to AARP) is accepted at the start of the course, and there are no refunds.
